Keeping Up Your Grade!

Now that we are getting close to the end of the term some of you may need a few points to bring your average up. I will reopen two quizzes from any of the previous chapters of your choice for anyone who emails me with a request and give you another opportunity to earn all the points available for those quizzes. You must email me by December 10!

Study Guide for the Final Exam

The final exam must be taken by December 14 in order to complete the course and receive a grade. This exam covers 3 chapters. Most students find chapter 7 and 8 not too difficult but chapter 9 not as easy so here is a heads up for for Chapter 9. Be sure to know the following:
Interest Calculations/Notes Receivable entries
Accounts Receivable Turnover
Allowance Method for Bad Debts
Percent of Sales Method for Bad Debts
I hope this will help in your studies for Exam 4.Reminder: ALL Four EXAMS and NINE Quizzes must be completed to finish the course.

Nov. 30 SD-Complete Chapter 7 Quiz

Dec. 10 SD-Complete Chapter 9 Quiz
December 14-Take Exam Four
These are suggested dates (SD) for the quizzes. If you take the quiz BY the suggested date and do not receive the score you would like, notify me by email and I will allow you to retake it. If you wait until later I cannot reset the quizzes. The final date to complete all three is December 14. I do not recommend waiting until the last minute. Please continue participating in the class discussions!

Six Steps to Success

Before the first exam:
1.Read chapters 1 and 2.
2.Review the chapter supplementary materials such as the Narrated Slides, Powerpoint Presentations, vocabulary words.(Click on the Course Content icon on the left then click on the appropriate chapter to access these.) The Course Content supplementary materials are now also available on the elearning system. Take the Interactive Self Quizzes for practice. 3.Complete the homework as assigned in each session. This is NOT required to be turned in to your instructor.
4.Take the chapter quiz located in Gradebook. (You have unlimited time to answer the quiz questions. All 9 quizzes will total 20% of your total grade. Do well on these to keep your grade up.)There is no EXTRA CREDIT. These quizzes are my version of extra credit!
5.Participate in the chapter discussion on the discussion board.
6.Ask your instructor if you have questions.

Exam Schedule for the term

The following is a schedule for timely completion of this course:
Exam with Final Date to Complete
One by September 21 (chapters 1&2)
Two by October 19 (chapters 3&4)
Three by November 16 (chapters 5&6)
Four by December 14 (chapters 7,8&9)
You may always choose to complete the exams earlier than the scheduled due dates. Students must take all four exams and corresponding quizzes.

Course Description
This is a web course that is a study of accounting terminology, concepts, techniques, methods, principles, practices, and procedures as applied to sole proprietorships. Typical financial transactions are analyzed in relation to the basic accounting equation and recorded in the books of the business. Financial statements will be prepared and interpreted by the students.

Laboratory Fee: $25
Prerequisites: No Prerequisites exist for this course.
